Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram
The Vrindavan ashram of Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj — a guide for visiting devotees
Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj is the Vrindavan ashram of Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj — saint of the Radhavallabh and Hit Parampara, and one of the most loved spiritual masters of our time. The ashram is a centre of daily satsang, Radha-Krishna bhakti and seva for devotees from every walk of life.
About the ashram
The name Radha Keli Kunj evokes the eternal grove (kunj) of Shri Radha's divine play (keli) — a name befitting an ashram entirely devoted to the love of Radha-Krishna. The ashram has grown organically around the spiritual presence of Maharaj ji, drawing seekers who feel the call of Vrindavan and the path of pure bhakti.
Daily life at the ashram revolves around satsang, naam-japa, kirtan and seva. Maharaj ji's discourses are listened to with deep reverence — many devotees say a single sitting can shift the direction of an entire life.
Daily satsang and darshan timings
The ashram holds two main satsang sessions each day — a pre-dawn satsang and an evening satsang. Specific timings vary with the season, festival calendar and Maharaj ji's health. The most reliable way to confirm timings is:
- Watching Maharaj ji's official YouTube live-stream the day before to see when satsang starts.
- Asking trusted long-time devotees in Vrindavan upon arrival.
- Visiting the ashram a day in advance for the next day's schedule.
Padyatra darshan
Most devotees take their first darshan of Maharaj ji during his early-morning padyatra — a walking journey through the lanes of Vrindavan. The padyatra begins very early (often between 3:30 AM and 4:30 AM). No booking is needed; arrive at the route well in advance and wait silently. See our guide on meeting Premanand Ji Maharaj for full details.
How to reach the ashram
- From Delhi: ~150 km via Yamuna Expressway (~3 hours).
- By train: Mathura Junction is the closest station; Vrindavan is 12 km from Mathura.
- By road: Buses, taxis and e-rickshaws are widely available from Mathura.
- Inside Vrindavan: e-rickshaws are the most practical option to reach Radha Keli Kunj. Local devotees can guide you.
Accommodation and food
The ashram does not generally offer guest accommodation for visitors. Vrindavan has hundreds of guest houses, dharamshalas and hotels — many within walking distance of major ashrams. Book ahead during major festivals.
Simple satvik (vegetarian, sattvic) food is available at many bhojanalayas in Vrindavan. Onion, garlic and non-vegetarian food are typically avoided in the holy town.
Donations and seva
The ashram is supported by the love of devotees. If you wish to contribute or perform seva:
- Speak directly to ashram sevaks during your visit — do not rely on unverified online links.
- Avoid wiring money to bank accounts shared in WhatsApp forwards or third-party blogs.
- Maharaj ji has repeatedly emphasised that the highest seva is naam japa and the cultivation of pure love — not money.
Multiple websites and individuals claim to offer "VIP darshan booking", "Ekantik Vartalap slots for purchase", or "donation collection on behalf of the ashram". These are not authorised. The ashram does not charge for darshan, satsang or audience, and there is no online portal selling access. If in doubt, ask in person.
Etiquette at the ashram
- Dress modestly — traditional Indian attire is preferred.
- Remove footwear before entering the inner darshan areas.
- Maintain silence during satsang; switch your phone to silent.
- Photography and selfies are usually discouraged. Respect the request.
- Do not push or rush; allow elderly devotees space to take darshan first.
